MARTHA ANNE THOMPSON

Just as the family of the late Ted Burns was trying to get back on their feet, once again Cancer claimed another life. On February 9, 2009 Ted's wife Leslie lost her loving mother, Martha Anne Thompson to Lung Cancer.

Martha (12/11/35 - 2/9/09), born to the late Cleo and Benjamin Moody in Philadelphia, PA. She attended Gratz High School and was a loving Mother of two, Grandmother of five and Great-Grandmother. It was important to her, that she 'never got old' and lived her life with much zest and laughter.

During her career, she worked in Civil Service for the City, the State of PA, the Federal Government, and in private industry. She lived a long and good life touching lives and making many friends. Martha attended Cornerstone Baptist Church as a young woman and was an active member of the Mt. Tabor Baptist Church on Rittenhouse Street in Philadelphia, before retiring to Monroe, Georgia in August of 2006.
